Designed by the ENGAGE4X4 design team and tested under real-life conditions on demanding off-road routes, this roof tent combines robust materials with practical construction. Each component has been selected with durability, handling and everyday practicality in mind.
Rooftop tent developed from travel experience
The ENGAGE4X4 roof tent is the result of intensive travel experience and numerous tests with other tent systems. Weak points of current models were analyzed and specifically improved. The goal was clear: a roof tent that works reliably even with heavily loaded off-road vehicles and can withstand even extreme conditions.
Whether corrugated iron tracks, stony mountain roads or humid tropical climates - the roof tent was tested under real-life conditions. The result is a modern, well thought-out design with high-quality materials and practical details. The result is a roof tent that sensibly combines comfort and durability.
Comfort and protection in any weather
The roof tent offers enough space for two adults and, if necessary, a small child. The integrated cold foam mattress is dimensioned to ensure a comfortable sleeping position even on longer trips. A high-quality mattress makes a significant difference to regeneration and performance, especially on trips lasting several weeks.
The outer material is made of waterproof, breathable and mildew-resistant ripstop poly-cotton fabric. This material ensures reliable weather protection and a pleasant indoor climate. Double-stitched and additionally taped seams increase the waterproofness of the roof tent.
Special attention is paid to the zippers. High-quality, heavy-duty designs are used permanently and have to withstand extreme conditions. A thermoplastic polyurethane coating provides additional sealing. This means that the roof tent remains watertight even in heavy rain up to a water pressure of 500 mbar.
Robust construction with aluminum frame
The roof tent is based on a lightweight but highly resilient aluminum frame. This combines low weight with high flexural rigidity and ensures stability while driving and when erected. An Alufloor panel with sandwich panels and an aluminum honeycomb core serves as the substructure. Internal cover layers made of fiberglass mesh and an outer protective layer increase resistance.
This construction method is tried and tested in the off-road sector, as it has a vibration-damping effect and can absorb high loads. An additional anti-drumming coating is therefore not necessary. At the same time, the construction impresses with its long-term weather resistance and high durability.
Sophisticated details for expedition use
Entrance covers and mosquito nets are integrated around the roof tent. A raised flysheet provides additional shade and improves ventilation. This significantly reduces heat build-up inside the tent, especially in warm regions. Bed linen and sleeping bags can remain in the closed roof tent if required, which makes daily pitching and dismantling easier.
The telescopic ladder can be flexibly adapted to different vehicle heights. Practical pockets and nets are available in the interior to store equipment neatly. Fastening options for lamps or camping lighting further increase the suitability for everyday use.
